What type of course is this?
This is a specialised course.
For further information on introductory and specialised courses please see the Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) area.
What is the aim of this course?
This course will give an update on the directives constituting the so-called 'Consumer Acquis' and in particular focus on the proposal of the Consumer Rights directive. The proposal integrates four directives of the current consumer acquis and will provide the legal regime for all consumer purchase contracts of a domestic or a cross border nature, when shopping in the grocery store at the corner or on-line from the Internet.
It will have a very direct impact on the everyday life of each consumer in the EU, and it is key that consumer organisations are closely involved in the legislative process in order to ensure that the final outcome benefits consumers.
The course will aim to provide the launching pad for consumer organisations to get actively involved in the legislative process.
