What is the aim of this course?
The aim of this course is to help consumer organisations to:
- Develop a strategic plan and a business plan accompanied by a financing strategy to support them.
The course is organised in two parts to give participants the opportunity to work on and refine their strategic plan and business plan accompanied by a financing strategy. The course will cover elements of the business plan, coaching advice as well as room for mutual exchange.
IMPORTANT: Please note that this is training requests a high input of work from participants before, during and after the first training. Therefore, you should only apply if you are willing to commit to this work and active participation in both courses, because only then can the successful outcome be ensured, and the coaching of the second part of the course becomes an added value to your organisation.
Application Requirements - deadline 25th April
In order to be considered for participating in the training, please send us a draft of a simple business plan for your organisation for 2013. In order to establish this, make sure that you have a development project for which you want to prepare a Business plan. Please submit this draft of a simple business plan to beuc.training@beuc.eu.
This simple business plan should include the following:
- The structure of your organisation;
- The staff employed by your organisation and the key management team members;
- Current year consolidated budget for your organisation and past financial statement(s) in English (audited if possibly and ideally for the last 1-3 years);
- What services and products are you providing and selling?
- What do you know about your 'market' for selling products and services, the needs of those who may use your products and services, how to reach them, etc?
- How is your strategy (actual and new projects) for the next 12 to 24 months? What is your first estimate of how much it will cost?
The deadline for sending the draft of a simple business plan for your organisation is the 25th April 2012.
Profile of participants
This course will be addressed in priority to consumer organisations in countries with a less well established family of NGOs and targeted to directors or senior managers who are
- dealing with both the strategy and financing of the organisation and responsible for long- term financial sustainability
- who have the acknowledged responsibility and willingness to complete this course but also have the capacity to implement a Business Plan and Strategy into their organisation upon completion of the course.
