What is the aim of this course?
This course is for people who would like to strengthen their existing advocacy skills.
This course will allow you to refresh your knowledge on the functioning of the EU institutions and the legislative procedures.
It will introduce you to the key players and update you on what advocacy skills are required at EU level and will also reflect upon the interplay between national government and the EU.
It will address the importance of having a clear advocacy strategy and as critical skills for effective lobbying, the course will also offer sessions on oral and written communication, presentation and negotiation skills.

In an attempt to have participants with a similar level of experience, we ask that in deciding whether to apply for this course or who to send on the course, that you carefully read the participant profile below to see whether the course matches your needs. This course will be targeted at participants who :
- Already have some understanding of how the EU Institutions work and of the EU legislative procedure.
- Already have some experience in advocacy at national or European level for their organisation.
- Are planning to take over a role in the area of advocacy within their organisation in the near future.
Please note that if you have already participated on a previous specialised course on Lobbying you cannot participate again.
